Only a few hours after its publication, an online petition from Pas-de-Calais created a major buzz on social networks… And for good reason: it supports the marketing of welsh flavored chips ! The claim, initiated by a humorous account of the Opal Coastquickly transformed into real demand from consumers.

It is the Facebook account Boulogne City Gang, known for its humor mixing caricature, satire and second degree, which is at the origin of this unusual petition. The request in question: the making of chips with a Welsh flavor, a “typically Boulonnais” dish (which is true, if we are to believe this specialist…).
The owner of the page, feeling the collective emotion that this generates, explains: “This is only the beginning! The people of the region are proud of their identity, as well as their cultural heritage and know how to claim it with humor. Welsh is and will remain Boulogne. »
Same euphoria, from the side of Internet users, who are already thinking of creating a movement big enough for it to reach the ears of Brets, the brand that people would like to initiate the Welsh crisps. “We can alert them if we identify all Brets,” one wrote. The hardest part will undoubtedly be convincing one, or even some Bretons!
