Increase in housing assistance

Since 2014, housing assistance paid by the Family Allowance Fund (Caf) has been increased on October 1st and no longer on January 1st. Several forms of assistance are affected by this revaluation, namely personalized housing assistance (APL), family housing allowances (ALF) and social housing assistance (ALS).

The increase is calculated taking into account the rent reference index (IRL) for the 2nd quarter of 2024. An increase of 3.26%. Some 6.6 million households should benefit from this revaluation.

Good to know

According to the Économie Matin website, an APL beneficiary receiving an allowance of 175 euros per month should see their allowance increase to around 180.70 euros following the revaluation on October 1.

New rules for PER

Do you have a retirement savings plan? The operating rules of your PER will change from October 24, 2024. Article 35 of the “green industry” law makes it compulsory to include a portion of unlisted assets (private equityprivate debt funds, etc.) in PER management mandates subscribed after October 24. A two-year exemption has been granted for collective PERs, subscribed to in a company.

Payment deadline for property tax

If you are a homeowner, don’t forget to pay your property tax! The payment deadline is October 20 at midnight. The debit from your bank account will take place five days later. If your property tax is less than 300 euros, you can pay it until October 15, 2024. Please note that amounts above 300 euros must be paid on the due date or by monthly payment contract.
