Baie-Saint-Paul also invested more than $2.7 million in various costs, including mandates for the analysis of riverside protection walls.

Despite the fact that the sector has found itself at the heart of significant flooding since the end of the 19th century, Baie-Saint-Paul wishes to invest to preserve the vitality of the Saint-Joseph district.

“Preserving the heritage value of neighborhoods and residences is a priority for the City. The fight against deurbanization is also at the heart of our concerns to maintain a dynamic and diverse population,” argues Mayor Michaël Pilote.

In this sense, 17 grant requests were submitted to the Ministry of Culture for the renovation of rue Saint-Joseph.
