Istanbul – Representatives of the Moroccan automotive industry are exploring cooperation opportunities with their Turkish and international counterparts, while exhibiting their products and services, on the occasion of the “Automechanika Istanbul 2024” international exhibition, which opened its doors on Thursday.

Moroccan participation in this international event (May 23-26), organized by the Turkish group Tüyap Exhibitions in partnership with the German exhibition in Frankfurt (Messe Frankfurt), offers the opportunity for Moroccan manufacturers to promote their skills and the progress made by the automotive industry in Morocco in recent years, as well as highlighting the “Made in Morocco” label.

Morocco occupies a prominent place within the Show with a large stand set up by the Moroccan Association for Automotive Industry and Commerce (AMICA), bringing together around ten companies operating in various sectors. industry, including spare parts, electrical wiring and vehicle components.

In a statement to MAP, the head of the spare parts sector at AMICA, Adil Rais, underlined the importance of the participation of Moroccan companies in the main international trade fairs in order to highlight their know-how.

Moroccan players in the sector are now seeking to open up to new markets, particularly in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, while strengthening their position in their traditional markets, explained Mr. Rais, affirming that the Moroccan manufacturers are capable of manufacturing high quality products and exporting them to all parts of the world.

The AMICA stand at “Automechanika Istanbul” is open and shared by the Moroccan companies present, to highlight the “close relationship” which links the players in the automotive industry to the Kingdom, he added, assuring that the combined efforts of all these players will make it possible to strengthen the sector’s export figures.

In recent years, Morocco has managed to establish a solid industrial base in the automotive sector, supported by a developed logistics infrastructure including major ports like Tanger Med, as well as road transport players who have a extensive expertise in shipping automotive industry products to Europe, said Mr. Rais.

The “Automechanika Istanbul” exhibition is one of the world’s leading events in the field of the automotive industry, bringing together more than 1,400 exhibitors from 41 countries. The organizers expect to welcome more than 60,000 professionals during this edition.
