Fatal accident in Outaouais: a 23-year-old man accused of impaired driving

A 23-year-old man is accused of causing the death of a young mother by driving while impaired in connection with the fatal accident that occurred Saturday in Outaouais.

Antoine Beaulne, a resident of Val-des-Monts, faces two counts of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and driving causing death.

Mr. Beaulne has no criminal history, but has received two speeding tickets since 2019, including one where he was driving at 89 km/h in a 50 zone.

He is the alleged driver who lost control of a vehicle after colliding with a heavy goods vehicle parked in the street during the night from Friday to Saturday in Gracefield, in Outaouais.

The passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. This is Camille Charlebois, a 20-year-old mother.

Ms. Charlebois’ mother expressed her sadness on her Facebook account on Saturday.

“My beautiful Camille, I don’t understand pk [pourquoi] […] My daughter, my angel, has gone to heaven,” wrote Sylvie Dumouchel.
