On this Wednesday, May 1, of all the rivers under Vigicrues surveillance in the Occitanie region, only the Célé has just been placed on yellow alert.
It is its section, from Maurs in Cantal, to Bouziès in Lot, via Figeac, which around 10 a.m. was placed on yellow alert. Note that Bouziès is the point of confluence with the Lot river.
Since 4 a.m., the measuring stations have observed a gradual increase in the rise of the Célé. Its level was then at 0.40 m in Bagnac-sur-Célé. It now reaches 0.59 m at 10:40 a.m.
In Figeac, it was around 7:30 a.m. that the rise in the river level began, going from 0.44 m to 0.52, in 3 hours.

What is the weather forecast
If we are still a long way from historic floods for the city, the last of which was on February 1, 2021, with a measured height of 2.6 m, Vigicrues remains on standby on this watercourse, subject to rapid and significant variations in temperature. its level which also gives it the qualifier of “torrential river”. Indeed, the weather forecasts are not encouraging and should increase the water flow of the Célé, which has its Source in the Massif-central, but also of all its tributaries.
Météo France’s yellow storm alert for the Lot
Météo France has placed the Lot department on yellow alert for the risk of thunderstorms, like a large part of the national territory, with the exception of the Atlantic coast and a southern part of France. The meteorological agency is forecasting scattered rains this morning, but more sustained in the north and east of our area. From the afternoon onwards, these still present showers should be a little less numerous. No lull expected before the evening and night of Thursday. We will have to wait until Sunday to see the sun again, but be careful, Météo France forecasts announce a risk of storms Monday evening.
