Charleroi and Club Bruges, reduced to ten following the exclusion of Raphael Onyedika (55th), shared the stakes 1-1 during the opening match of the 9th day of the Belgian championship. Perfect Guiagon opened the scoring for the Carolos (48th) and Hans Vanaken equalized (901st+1). In the standings, the Blauw-Zwart (2nd) and the Zèbres (3rd) have 14 points.
In Charleroi, Rik De Mil revived the eleven which shared the stake in Anderlecht. On the Bruges side, Nicky Hayen hasn’t changed anything either despite the defeats against Dortmund and La Gantoise. The match immediately brought the first corner for the Club and, on the counter, the first opportunity for the Zebras with an attempt from Vetle Dragsnes (2nd). The rest was less sparkling although the Club had opportunities to open the score but Mohamed Koné stood out by making two good saves on attempts by Christos Tzolis (26th) and Vanaken (39th).
While they did not just resist, the Zebras only called on Simon Mignolet after the recovery by Etienne Camara (47th). If he released the Frenchman’s attempt, the Bruges goalkeeper was surprised by a lob from Guiagon, free as air on an overflow from Antoine Bernier (48th, 1-0). The people of Bruges found themselves in further difficulty when Onyedika was sent off for a strong tackle on Guiagon (55th). Charleroi took advantage of its numerical superiority to combine well but not to ensure victory. Oday Dabbagh did not get his header on target (70th) before coming up against Mignolet, author of two big exits (78th, 86th). Bruges then went all out and after a post from Brandon Mechele (88th), Vanaken equalized with a long-range shot (90th+1, 1-1).
