Damn lucky guy. A resident of Haillicourt, near Béthune, in Pas-de-, experienced a nice surprise in the lottery, Bleu reported this Friday. When checking the results of his EuroMillions/My Million ticket draw on the newspaper, he first discovered that he had won 3.50 euros before realizing that his winnings were much greater.

It all started on March 22 when this lucky guy validated four EuroMillions flash grids in a tobacco shop. This grid earned him 3.50 euros, but he had forgotten to check the EuroMillions/My Million code, a code of letters and numbers drawn every Tuesday and Friday. And this extra chance gave him a nice surprise.

He had indeed just won a whopping one million euros. “I couldn’t hold back my tears because the emotion was so strong,” the winner told the Française des Jeux (FDJ). “In March, very beautiful things often happened to me: the birth of loved ones, and now this gain. It’s going to become my favorite month,” he added.
