Theater / This is a grandiose spectacle for all audiences: the stage adaptation of Jules Verne’s famous novel by Christian Hecq and Valrie Lesort. discover from Thursday May 2 to Sunday May 12 in Les Clestins.

On stage, a submarine, divers, jellyfish, big fish… The magic of theater in short, this artisanal art capable of bringing an entire world to life and carrying the audience away so that they truly believe in it. like iron.

With their theatrical adaptation of 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, a cult novel by Jules Verne ahead of its time (1869), the extremely inventive duo Christian Hecq and Valrie Lesort have designed one of these generous shows for the general public which are a real eye-catcher. He also won the 2016 Molire for visual creation, without bragging but with great resources.

aboard the famous Nautilus, a veritable cabinet of curiosities installed on the plateau, the journey of their hero Captain Nemo and his ill-fated acolytes (a small team stranded at sea after setting out in search of a sea monster) is followed with passion, thanks in particular to a cast (renewed since the first almost ten years ago) invested to the point of comedy.

Enchantment of Africa and initiatory journey

This 20000 Leagues Under the Sea then becomes an adventure on several levels of reading: magical enchantment for the youngest (from 7 years old), and this same enchantment for the oldest (who are only former young people) coupled with the reflection developed by Jules Verne in his initiatory novel here perfectly transcribed.

Behind the grandiose images (with the help of puppets and precisely cut lights) and the pleasant humor, their Nemo, voluntarily cut off from a world that he no longer understands, is as disturbing as it is upsetting.
