Top 14 – Bordeaux’s scores – Racing 92: Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Damian Penaud sparkling, Maxime Baudonne sacrificed

Union -Bègles wingers Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Damian Penaud scored six of their team’s eight tries, both scoring a hat-trick against Racing 92 (52-34). The Parisian staff decided to sacrifice flanker Maxime Baudonne to bring in Cameron Woki while the line-out was in great pain. Daniel Lancaster also struggled.

The Tops

  • Louis Bielle-Biarrey: 9/10

The Union Bordeaux-Bègles winger was in all the good shotsvery often bringing the extra man on the opposite wing. He was also involved in the first two tries of the match scored by Damian Penaud. He also made a perfect pass to send Nicolas Depoortere under the posts at the start of the second half. But the young winger especially scored a hat-trick, showing himself to be as skillful as he was opportunistic.

Two tries at the very start of the match where he knew how to get the better of the last defender each time, Damian Penaud launched the UBB perfectly. Put into orbit in particular by his partner Louis Bielle-Biarrey, he returned the favor with a superb decisive foot pass. He was also vigilant defensively to take on Gaël Fickou five meters from the in-goal area. Ever crazier, he scored a third try by mixing in a penetrating group in the middle of the big guys!

The Flops

The young Racing 92 centre did not bring serenity to a team that was quickly put under pressure. Covering the back of the pitch, he released a ball under pressure from Nicolas Depoortere and Louis Bielle-Biarrey took advantage to score the fourth Girondin try in the 22nd minutee minute. He was clearly caught by the throat by the Bordeaux defense, losing another ball in contact a few minutes later.

The Racing 92 third-row wing, who nevertheless scored his team’s first try, allowing him to stop the bleeding a little after conceding four tries, was the victim of his team’s shortcomings. Indeed, the Parisian staff sacrificed him in the 32nd minutee minute to bring Cameron Woki into play and thus offer an additional option in a drifting touchline. The former Girondin also perfectly fulfilled his mission. Maxime Baudonne then returned to the pitch, notably distinguishing himself on the last try of the Ciel et Blanc.
