An insurance broker ten years ago, Magali Berdah is on trial this Monday at the court for her management of a company during its liquidation.

Magali Berdah must appear Monday afternoon before the criminal court of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) for bankruptcy and money laundering when she was an insurance broker around ten years ago, before she became the “popess of influencers “. This figure from the world of social networks, already present as a victim in several cyberharassment proceedings, will this time be on the dock, alongside three former colleagues.

The procedure concerns his management of the insurance brokerage company BA&CO between January 30, 2014 and July 31, 2015, the day after the judicial liquidation of the company with liabilities estimated at nearly 2.5 million euros, according to the Nice parquet flooring. In an interview with the regional daily Nice-Morning last Friday, she assures that she is only one “simple employee” of the company and that it gained nothing from the bankruptcy. Placed in police custody a year ago in this case, she has since been under judicial supervision, with a ban on managing a business and an obligation to report.

After this first business, in 2017 she created the Shauna Events agency, specializing in connecting social media personalities and brands, which earned her the nickname “the popess of influencers” and made her a target of rapper Booba in his crusade against “influvoleurs”.

“They will wait for me in court”

The rapper accused her of deceptive business practices, she responded by filing a complaint. The investigation launched against her was dismissed, while Booba was indicted a year ago for aggravated online moral harassment.

In March, 28 Internet users were convicted following a trial which revealed the virulence of the tens of thousands of messages she received: “Dirty female dog”, “scammer”, “we will come and slit your throat at your place”, “you deserve to be decapitated and stoned”, “may your daughter die”

HAS Nice-MorningMagali Berdah assured to be calm “judicially” before Monday’s trial, but not for his safety: “People are calling me on social networks to tell me that they will be in Nice that day, that they will be waiting for me in court…”
