The results of the first round of 16 of Euro 2024 are beginning to draw the table for the quarter-finals, which will be played on July 5 and 6. Switzerland secured the first ticket by eliminating Italy, the reigning European champion.
By managing to eliminate Italy with a 2-0 victory in Berlin on Saturday 29 June, Switzerland is the first team to have qualified for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. The Swiss selection, in the part of the table considered the weakest, will face the winner of the confrontation between England and Slovakia.
The first quarter-final pits the winner of the Spain-Georgia match against Germany, who beat Denmark (2-0), despite a big scare in a somewhat crazy sequence. The second quarter-final pits the victorious teams of the France-Belgium and Portugal-Slovenia matches against each other.
As for the last quarter-final, scheduled after that of Switzerland, it will be between the winners of Romania-Netherlands and Austria-Turkey.
The quarter-finals of the competition will be played on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July, each time at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
