Tigers NHL Draft tracker: Forward Andrew Basha drafted by Flames in second round

Medicine Hat Tigers forward Andrew Basha gets to call his hometown, his NHL home.
The 18-year-old forward was selected 41st overall by the Calgary Flames, being the ninth pick of the second round of the NHL’s Entry Draft Saturday at Las Vegas.
Basha worked his way into a late first-round touted prospect with a standout third season with the Tigers, putting up 30 goals and 85 points in 63 games. He added another three goals and five points in five playoff games. He played in the CHL Top Prospects game in January and also took part in the NHL draft combine in early June.
Basha is the second Tigers’ forward drafted this weekend, with 18-year-old Cayden Lindstrom selected fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in Friday’s first round.

Fourth round

Tigers’ forward Tomas Mrsic was selected in the fourth round, 113th overall by the St Louis Blues.
Mrsic had 23 goals and 62 points in 63 games with the Tigers this season. He was the 64th ranked North American Skater by the NHL Central Scouting ahead of the NHL Draft.

Sixth round

Tigers’ forward Hunter St. Martin was selected in the sixth round, 193rd overall by the Florida Panthers.
The 19-year-old St. Martin was unranked heading into the draft but garnered NHL interest after putting up 24 goals and 58 points in 68 games this season in the orange and black.
