He worked with the biggest stars

Cobbs acted alongside big names during his lifetime. He filmed “The Bodyguard” with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in 1992, where he played the role of Rachel Marron’s manager, aka Houston. He also appeared in both “Night at the Museum” films as night watchman Reginald, the supporter of Ben Stiller’s part.

He also appeared in a lot of series. His resume includes appearances on “The West Wing” as well as “The Sopranos” and “Sesame Street.” He won a Daytime Emmy Award for his role in the children’s format “Dino Dana” – he last appeared there as an actor in 2020.

From car salesman to actor

Wilbert Francisco Cobbs, born on June 16, 1934, was not immediately aware that he would one day make a name for himself on the big screen and on TV. After attending school in Cleveland, he was first integrated into the US Air Force. This was followed by a job as a vehicle salesman. It was only then that a customer pushed him to take part in a play at the theater. And so his career as an actor began in the 1970s, and he was soon known only as Bill Cobbs.
