After a man from Vaud and a man from Geneva, now a man from Valais? Kyshawn George will most likely be the third Swiss player to be hired by an NBA team on Thursday night. Before him, only Thabo Sefolosha (40) and Clint Capela (30) have made the leap into the best basketball league in the world.
George played last season at the college level for the Miami Hurricanes. The 20-year-old particularly excelled with his three-point percentage of over 40 percent.
A journey through the USA
The bookmakers predict that the 2.03 meter tall man will be among the first 20 players selected at the NBA Draft in New York. In recent weeks, the son of the former Chablais legend Deon George has been able to demonstrate his class at various clubs.
This self-promotion took him to Los Angeles, Portland, Toronto, Washington, Orlando, Milwaukee and Salt Lake City. “My strengths are my size, my dribbling, my defense and my versatility,” says George confidently. “I can play anywhere.”
