The career of Jamal Musiala

Jamal Musiala grew up on the island and played for Chelsea FC for seven years. In 2019, he moved to FC Bayern, where his career really took off. Before his 18th birthday, he made his debut for the German record champions.

In Munich, he quickly became a shooting star: he was the club’s youngest Bundesliga debutant, youngest Bundesliga and youngest Champions League goalscorer. In March 2021, the youngster, who had just turned 18, signed his first professional contract.

Jamal Musiala and England: his nationality

Jamal Musiala is German, but also has British roots on his father’s side. He played for England in the U-national teams before deciding to play for Germany in the U16s.

Although Musiala had actually leaned towards a career in the English national teams, the German Football Association remained stubborn. In February 2021, it was announced that he had chosen the DFB. The then national coach Joachim Löw then nominated him for the 2021 European Championship.

Jamal Musiala has a contract with FC Bayern until 2026. The record champion is working hard on an extension of the contract because all the other top clubs have their eye on the German international. There is currently no exit clause.

Jamal Musiala: Salary and net worth

Jamal Musiala’s current contract is said to be worth around 8 million euros. If he were to extend his contract with FC Bayern, he would become the top earner, according to consistent media reports: FC Bayern is said to have announced around 20 million euros.

Due to his young age and his few years as a professional, there are currently no reliable estimates of Jamal Musiala’s net worth.

Market value of Jamal Musiala

It is a neck-and-neck race: Since the summer of 2024, it is no longer Jamal Musiala but Florian Wirtz who is considered the most valuable German player of all time with a market value of 130 million euros.

Nevertheless, Jamal Musiala’s market value is crazy: The industry portal “Transfermarkt.de” put his value at 120 million euros before the 2024 European Championship. This is more than double the amount within a year and a half; in December 2021 it was valued at 55 million euros.

Jamal Musiala: the size and the nickname “Bambi”

Jamal Musiala is 1.84 meters tall. His height has nothing to do with his nickname “Bambi,” it’s more his stature. In a children’s interview with FC Bayern, he revealed: “I got the name from Leroy. That was because of my thin legs back then and because I was so young when I joined the pros.” He is referring to teammate Leroy Sané.

Jamal Musiala and the Maultaschen

“My Maultaschen: lunch, dinner, as a snack, Maultaschen are always in my fridge”Jamal Musiala told “GQ”. The statements went viral. Not because he likes Maultaschen, which is not surprising considering his birthplace in Stuttgart. But because of the preparation: “You open the packet, put them in a pot with a little more water than Maultaschen so that they float. Then you start cooking them. No, you have to add tomato sauce first.”

Jamal Musiala: These are his father and mother

Jamal Musiala’s mother Carolin is German, his father Daniel, called “Rich”, is British of Nigerian descent. Jamal Musiala has two siblings: Latisha and Jerrell, who are six and 13 years younger.

Due to a study-related move, Musiala and his family left Germany at the age of seven and moved with his parents to Southampton.

The mother later moved with Jamal near Munich, his father is said to still live in London. The “Bild” newspaper reported in the summer of 2024 that Musiala had “just” moved out of his mother’s house.

Jamal Musiala: Does he have a girlfriend?

Many fans are also interested in the players’ private lives. One of the most searched questions about Musiala is: “Does Jamal Musiala have a girlfriend?”

Musiala shares very little about his private life with his 4.7 million followers on Instagram. Rather, his profile consists of pictures and videos from his appearances at FC Bayern and the German national team.

The official answer is therefore only partially satisfactory for the fans: Musiala is considered single – but only because no more is known about his private life. His relationship status is not officially confirmed.

What car does Jamal Musiala drive?

“Until now, I’ve been very happy that my mum was kind enough to drive me to training. I’m currently getting my driver’s license and am really looking forward to driving myself soon,” Jamal Musiala told “Sport Bild” around his 18th birthday. But he “doesn’t know what car I’m getting from Bayern. The main thing is that it runs – and it has a good music system in it.”

The “TZ” gave an answer to this in autumn 2023. The newspaper reported that Musiala drives an Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. You have to know that Audi is a sponsor of FC Bayern. The players are required to arrive at the training ground in the sponsor’s car.
