Next Monday, TF1 will broadcast “All the blue in the sky”, a touching TV film adapted from the eponymous novel by Melissa Da Costa with Hugo Becker and Camille Lou. The latter also had a requirement with the character of Joanne.
Last week, TF1 unveiled the first trailer for All the Blue in the Sky, its new event TV film with Camille Lou (Cat's Eyes) and Hugo Becker (I promise you), adapted from the eponymous bestseller by Melissa Da Costa, which has sold more than 1.5 million copies. This fiction, eagerly awaited by fans, will be broadcast on Monday January 27 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1.
Directed by Maurice Barthélémy and written by Claire LeMaréchal, All the Blue in the Sky follows Emile, a young man suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's who decides to spend the last months he has left to live traveling.
To avoid going on his road trip alone, he posts a classified ad on the internet, and meets Joanne, a young woman who is trying to escape her past. Together, they will cross the Pyrenees in a van.
This initiatory journey will shatter their certainties and give rise to feelings they never thought they would feel again…
This detail that Camille Lou wanted to see
During a press briefing, Camille Lou, who plays the character of Joanne, confided that she had read All the Blue in the Sky before accepting the role of Joanne.
Just like the readers of the novel, she was very attached to ensuring that the adaptation was as faithful as possible. There was therefore a detail, present in the trailer, that she was keen to see appear in the TV film: the large black hat worn by Joanne.
-“It was extremely important for me to stick to the image that was in the book. It was an absolute obsession”, confided the actress. “Because of what she experiences, and in the story, her clothes play a role. They tell something about Joanne.”
And Melissa Da Costa added: “All the readers who have read the book have the image of these large, very loose black clothes in which she disappears and she disappears completely. And this hat…”.
“I wanted it so much. We tried on several hats to find the one that would work best” added Camille Lou. “At first, Hugo (Becker) had doubts about the hat.“
“But I told him we couldn't do without it. That's out of the question. Joanne hides in the shadow of her hat”. A key detail of the character of Joanne which is therefore indeed present in the adaptation, as shown in the trailer for All the Blue in the Sky.
See you on Monday January 27 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1 to discover All the blue in the sky. The TV film will also be available on this date on the TF1+ platform as well as on Netflix.
