New Bern businesses help community prepare for potential winter storm

NEW BERN, N.C. — With winter storms approaching, shops like Down East Ace are helping people get prepared.

Store Manager Euel Brown says, “simple conscientious things, and your home will be fine.”

By Sunday afternoon the store had already sold their last bag of salt, but still have other things you might need.

“A snow shovel, if—you know we get snow to clear the driveway and the sidewalks, we’ve got the scrapers for your windshield,” says Brown.
