The affair has shaken social networks since Sunday January 12, the day the documentary was broadcast on the show Sept à Huit on TF1, in which Anne testifies about the scam she suffered. The fifty-year-old reveals that she was defrauded by scammers posing as American actor Brad Pitt. The latter allegedly extracted nearly 830,000 euros from her by maintaining a romantic correspondence with her.
Ruined and distraught, Anne then agreed to testify openly, but since the broadcast of her testimony, the mother has been the victim of cyberharassment, with a lot of memes and mockery. TF1 has also made the decision to delete the report from its platforms, but Anne denounces a truncated documentary. According to her, it does not reflect the reality of what she experienced. She therefore rebelled on Guillaume Pley's Legend show on YouTube.
“You can't judge”
Anne first responded to her detractors, deeming her naive for not having seen the deception. “You can't judge how I fell for this scamAnne said first. I am a sensible woman: if you had been in my place, you would have fallen into the trap. If someone comes and talks to you kindly, says words to you that you have never heard from your own husband, attentions, etc., well yes, we fall for it. That's how it happened. Because I wanted to end it every time, and every time, I kicked him out and he came back through another window.“
And to continue, pointing out the editorial work of Sept à Huit: “We only remember one thing from this report, which is: 'Anne was in love with a fake Brad Pitt'. That's not the story at all […] This photo is fake and I can see it very well, it's a photomontage. In the show, obviously, all this is not said because, know that the journalist stayed for two days to interview me, and he only retained what should not have been retained in fact, to give me dirty my image and it is only for the purpose of gaining audience“. Angry, she doesn't intend to stop there. “See you soon, because we will see each other again very soon“, she concluded.
“Do not respond to unsolicited online requests”
This Wednesday, January 15, it was Brad Pitt, through his agent who spoke about this affair, in the American media Entertainment Weekly: “It's awful that scammers are taking advantage of fans' strong connection with celebrities […] But it's an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online requests, especially from actors who don't have a social media presence“
