“The court had no doubt” as to the guilt of the two police officers, declared the president of the 10e correctional chamber, which sentenced Maxime D. and Matthieu D. to respectively twenty-four months and eighteen months of suspended imprisonment. The court also sentenced them to a definitive ban on carrying out professional activity in the public service with provisional execution, that is to say applicable immediately, even in the event of appeal.

On October 29, the prosecution requested respectively thirty and twenty-four months of suspended imprisonment against these two police officers, as well as a definitive ban on practicing.

A third police officer, Clément B., station chief on the evening of the incident and who had supported Maxime D.'s initial story, was sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence and banned from working in the police force for four years. months for “slanderous denunciation” and “failure to assist a person in danger”.

Maxime D., who had appeared for another case dating back to June 2022, was ordered to pay 1,200 euros in damages to a woman whom he had sprayed with tear gas when he had to accompany her after a refusal to taking a complaint. Maxime D. will be judged on March 20 with Clément B. in a third case, this time for violence in a meeting. On May 4, after a brawl in front of a Parisian pub, the police were filmed beating two men who then collapsed to the ground, lifeless, according to a judicial source.
