“If he refuses to reveal his proposal made on the telephone, Olivier Faure believes that an agreement is possible with the Prime Minister on pension reform which constitutes a blocking point for the left. A few hours before François Bayrou's general policy speech, the First Secretary of the PS spoke with the head of government during the night after an inconclusive meeting on Monday evening in Matignon. “I think we can conclude,” he declared this morning on RMC-BFMTV.

At the same time, the leader of the PS deputies, Boris Vallaud considered on 2, for his part “that it doesn't matter”. “The vote of censure is a prospect that would increase in the absence of listening to the government.”

The PS demands the suspension of the pension reform – the ecologists and the communists demand its suppression – before committing not to vote for censure. Open to the reopening of a debate on the postponement of the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years, François Bayrou has, on the other hand, always shown himself opposed to a freeze on its deployment without a financing solution.
