Created in 2019, the Curious Lab' is a system of the Hauts-de-Seine Department which associates higher education establishments with municipalities. More specifically, students are asked to work on local projects, hand in hand with municipal staff. This operation has a double benefit: the municipalities benefit from an outside perspective and an innovative approach, while the students work on concrete cases which will be useful to them in their professional life. “This strategy makes it possible to modernize public action to give greater flexibility and flexibility to stakeholders with the aim of accelerating major territorial transitions”affirms the Department. “ It allows these students to get to grips with the issues facing public authorities, to introduce them to this sector and its actions”specifies Aurélie Bernier-Toreau, director of Solidarity and CCAS in Clichy.
FIGHT AGAINST THE DIGITAL DIVIDE
Car Clichy took part in the Curious Lab' on the occasion of its 6th edition, starting in spring 2023. Two classes from the ICN Business School, based in La Défense, were assigned to the city. The project: fight against the digital divide. In two weeks, the students' mission was to identify the population's needs in terms of IT assistance and existing solutions, then to suggest new avenues. Among the ideas proposed: an educational play, the creation of a network of users who would help each other… The solution chosen was purchasing equipment. Clichy obtained 50% co-financing from the Department for the purchase of tablets, laptops and a large digital touch screeni.e. a subsidy of 8 131 €delivered on December 13, 2024.
This computer equipment will go to the Boisseau center, which should soon obtain “social center” approval from the CAF. A label which would open the door to new subsidies, but above all which would formalize its social role : even more than today, the place will become a pillar of municipal action in terms of access to rights and digital support.
Satisfied with this experience, the Municipality renewed its participation in the Curious Lab' by joining the 7th edition. This time the project will focus on young Clichois and their commitmentin partnership with the Youth Information Bureau (BIJ).
