The leading French channel celebrated its 50th anniversary, an event punctuated by the exceptional return of Denise Fabre to the air. At 82 years old, the emblematic ex-presenter offered a moment rich in emotion by joining Evelyne Dhéliat, her lifelong friend, at the end of the 1 p.m. news presented by Marie-Sophie Lacarrau.
Denise Fabre had not been seen on TF1 for many years. And yet, the 82-year-old former presenter left her mark on the history of the channel between 1975 and 1999. At that time, she was renowned for her many laughs that became cult. On the occasion of the channel's 50th anniversary, this Monday, January 6, the Niçoise met up with her friend Evelyne Dhéliat, nostalgically evoking her live memories. “We had to give the best of ourselves, surpass ourselves at times, it was live.” she confided before adding: “It was my golden age, I really had a lot of fun.”
Beyond her career as a presenter and host, Denise Fabre also shone on the radio on Europe 1. She was also active in politics as a municipal councilor in Nice from 2008 to 2020, where she defended the colors of the UMP (today Les Républicains). But in her career, Francis Vandenhende's wife had to face cancer which was diagnosed three years ago.
Denise Fabre: her battle against cancer until her remission
In recent years, Denise Fabre has had to face a difficult ordeal in her life. Diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2022, she underwent intensive treatment including chemotherapy sessions which caused her to lose her hair – she has since worn a blonde wig. Despite this ordeal, the former presenter would today be on the road to remission. According to information reported by France Sundayhis latest medical examinations show a significant improvement in his health. A personal victory which allowed her to appear radiant on the set of TF1 and to announce her participation in the show The Secret Box by Faustine Bollaert, broadcast this Friday January 10 on France 3.
