Anne-Marie Comparini, former deputy for Rhône and president of the Rhône-Alpes region, died this Sunday, January 5 at the Édouard-Herriot hospital in (Rhône), reports 3, which specifies that her state of health is was degraded last fall.

Born on July 11, 1947 in (), this devotee of François Bayrou marked regional and national history through her refusal to compromise and her commitment to humanist values. “Anne-Marie Comparini, a woman of conscience and courage,” greeted the Prime Minister on the social network We loved him and I loved him,” he said in his tribute.

President of the Rhône-Alpes region from 1999 to 2004, she was elected thanks to the support of left-wing elected officials and the UDF, opposed to Charles Millon after the latter accepted the votes of the National Front. Elected to the Rhône-Alpes regional council since 1986, Anne-Marie Comparini served there continuously until 2004.
