Born on July 11, 1947 in Orange (Vaucluse), this devotee of François Bayrou marked regional and national history through her refusal to compromise and her commitment to humanist values. “Anne-Marie Comparini, a woman of conscience and courage,” greeted the Prime Minister on the social network We loved him and I loved him,” he said in his tribute.
President of the Rhône-Alpes region from 1999 to 2004, she was elected thanks to the support of left-wing elected officials and the UDF, opposed to Charles Millon after the latter accepted the votes of the National Front. Elected to the Rhône-Alpes regional council since 1986, Anne-Marie Comparini served there continuously until 2004.
