Supporters of the Barbastro club, in the 4th Spanish division, had fun teasing Dani Olmo, who could not be registered with La Liga, before hosting FC Barcelona on Saturday evening in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey .

“Dani Olmo, where are you?” Supporters of Barbastro, a Spanish fourth division club, cheered Dani Olmo on Saturday evening, before welcoming FC Barcelona this Saturday for the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey. Local fans are amused by the situation of the Spanish attacking midfielder who was refused his registration with La Liga.

Equipped with drums and megaphones, the young supporters of the club which is currently 16th in D4 have fun repeating “Dani Olmo donde esta? Donde esta Dani Olmo?” (“Dani Olmo where are you? Where are you Dani Olmo?” in French) while waiting for the buses of the two teams to pass in front of the stadium. The Spaniard is not in the squad called up for the Copa del Rey match against Barbastro, due to his non-registration with La Liga. Victor, who is in the same situation, is also absent.

The registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor rewritten

This Saturday, La Liga and the Spanish Federation announced in a joint press release not validate the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor at FC Barcelona, “in accordance with the literal interpretation of articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the General Regulations of the RFEF, which prevent a player whose license is canceled from being able, during the same season, to obtain a license in the same team of the club to which he was already linked”.

The Blaugrana club therefore has no other choice but to contact as a last resort to the Spanish Administrative Court for Sports (CSD) or to ordinary justice to obtain mediation and potentially therefore the registration of its two players. The Catalan management says it is optimistic and has assured both players that its arguments will be heard. A response is expected Tuesday.
