Breaking news… Ferdi Tayfur passed away

Ferdi Tayfur, who suddenly fell ill at his home in Marmaris district of Muğla, was taken to intensive care and treated in a private hospital. Tayfur, who was reported to have been ill due to a cold, was sent to this city by ambulance plane on the night of December 17, upon the request of his doctor at the hospital in Antalya, where he had previously received treatment.

Ferdi Tayfur, who was treated in the intensive care unit, died at around 19.00 this evening.

‘OUR INSIDE IS BURNING ANOTHER’

Following the sad news, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy published a condolence message:

“Our hearts are burning even more!

I learned with deep sadness that Ferdi Tayfur, the author of immortal works such as “İçim Yanar”, “Bana Sor” and “Hatıran Yeter”, passed away.

Our art world lost a very exceptional name today.

The great master, who translated the feelings of millions with his works, will now live in our hearts; It will accompany us in our pains and joys.

May God have mercy on him, I offer my condolences to his family, loved ones and our entire art community.

‘I EXPAND MY CONDOLENCES TO THE ART COMMUNITY’

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, wished God’s mercy to the artist Ferdi Tayfur, who lost his life in the hospital where he was treated in Antalya.

In the message he published on his social media account, Kurtulmuş said, “May God have mercy on Ferdi Tayfur, the master of arabesque music, who has earned a place in the hearts of our nation with the title of ‘Ferdi Baba’, and I offer my condolences to his family, loved ones and the entire art community.” He included his statements.
