On Saturday, November 30, presenter Tom Waes caused a traffic accident on the Antwerp ring road. He had to be hospitalized. The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office also had a blood sample from the well-known TV presenter confiscated there for examination. After all, Waes will have to appear before the police court in 2025.

The results of that toxicological study are now known. No traces of prohibited substances were found in his blood. It turned out that he was under the influence of alcohol.
Waes previously admitted this in a statement: “I remember nothing about the accident or the circumstances that night in the Kennedy Tunnel. The fact is that I went to a restaurant and café that evening and that I drank too much to be allowed to drive the car. Still, I got in my car to get home. Incomprehensible.
