The man, aged 24, tested positive for drugs and alcohol while driving on the night of Saturday January 4. The day before, he and a colleague had already been noticed for nighttime disturbances under the influence of alcohol.
The end of the vacation ended in police custody. A 24-year-old from Var spent the evening of Saturday January 4 in a cell of the Barcelonnette gendarmerie (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), BFM DICI learned.
Shortly before, the man had been stopped by the military while driving a vehicle. He was drunk and under the influence of drugs. In addition, he already had his driving license revoked.
Judged in March 2025
A search was carried out in his home and in his vehicle. The police found a few grams of cocaine and herbal cannabis.
Already known to the courts, the young man was a repeat offender. The day before, he had first stood out by causing a disturbance in the station, against a backdrop of excessive alcohol consumption.
He will be tried on March 17, 2025 before the Digne-les-Bains criminal court.
