“Actually insane” – Fans shocked as AI streamer amasses over 143,000 Twitch subscribers

Popular AI streamer Neuro-sama, developed by Vedal987, went viral on social media after amassing over 143k active Twitch subscribers. On January 1, 2025, Neuro-sama began a subathon on its channel. At the five-hour mark of the broadcast, numerous live viewers subscribed to Vedal987’s channel, breaking the Hype Train record previously held by Twitch streamer Jason “Thor,” popularly known as “Pirate Software.”

Expressing his surprise at the situation, Vedal987 stated:

“Can we get more information? Is this… are we beating the Hype Train record on Twitch? Is that… am I mistaken here? (Vedal987 types) ‘Hype Train record. Level 106, April 1, 2024, by Pirate Software.’ Happy f**king new year! Un-f**king-real! Chat, we did it, Neuro.”

Over 265 fans on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit have shared their thoughts on Neuro-sama breaking Pirate Software’s record and gaining over 143k Twitch subscribers.

“Actually insane,” Redditor u/Bacon2145 wrote.

One community member believed Vedal987 developed the “most entertaining AI” that a “billion-dollar company” failed to do.

“The dude deserves it. He’s made the best entertaining AI that no billion-dollar company has been able to come close to. I’ve been really impressed with her ability to play Minecraft,” Redditor u/kingssman commented.

One fan explained why the AI streamer seemed to lag during the livestream, claiming an increase in Twitch subscribers caused it.

“By the way, the reason she’s so laggy in the clip is because her computer is basically getting DDOS’d with how many subs she’s getting. Her CPU usage is at 100%, according to Vedal,” Redditor u/Hewligan stated.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user provided some statistics after the Hype Train ended on the streamer’s channel.

“Final stats when the Hype Train ended (at 22:02 UTC): Level 111 (and 55%). ~141930 subs. ~275h42m time left in Subathon timer,” Redditor u/MOST_SAME_LSF_USER wrote.
