An Islamic State flag was found in the pickup of the man who drove into the crowd in New Orleans, on the night of Tuesday, December 31 to Wednesday, January 1. The suspect killed 10 people and injured around 30 before being shot dead by police.
On the night of Tuesday, December 31 to Wednesday, January 1, a man driving his pickup hit dozens of revelers in a crowded street in New Orleans (United States). Shots were fired. The suspect injured two police officers before being shot.
Many people were injured. Around them, scenes of chaos. “It was a real-life horror movie. Everything the car hit was thrown into the air, crushed under the wheels.”says a witness. “There were an unimaginable number of victims. People disfigured, and bodies crushed“, remembers another.
The events occurred at 3:15 a.m., in the French Quarter of the city. The suspect allegedly drove around security barriers at the corner of Canal Street and Bourbon Street with the intention of committing a massacre, police confirmed. According to CNN, authorities found explosives inside the car, as well as an Islamic State group flag.
