The extraordinary riot of fireworks on New Year's Eve at the stroke of midnight immortalized by the visual artist Mario Amura in the Napoli Explosion project
Napoli welcomed the new year as alone Napoli knows how to do: lighting up the sky like a daylight with fireworks, lights, choirs and the classic bangs of the night New Year's Eve.
A unique show that welcomed 2025. Mario Amuraphotographer, visual artist for fourteen years now spends the night of New Year's on the Scalethe mountain that stands out on Gulf of Naples – in front of the Vesuvius – to capture that ancient ritual which with its deafening roar chases away the evil spirits that spread bad luck, and with its multicolored glow attracts the good ones.
The Art Historian Salvatore Settis thus defined the project Amura: Napoli Explosion is an autobiographical work, a hymn of the city of Naples to itself. The result in this extraordinary video.
