New Year's Eve: France celebrates the transition to 2025
Across France, many people celebrated the transition to 2025. Outside and inside, everyone has their own way of ending 2024.
Paris celebrates the New Year, with a grandiose spectacle from the Arc de Triomphe. More than a million spectators watched the traditional fireworks display, including many tourists who celebrated the New Year in several languages. Everywhere in France, it was time to celebrate.
In the streets of Saintes (Charente-Maritime), 2025 promises to be costumed, and like every year, the French braved the cold; the cavalcade is a success. For those who are more cautious but who are not afraid, New Year's Eve in Sète (Hérault) is spent indoors, at the cabaret, with a festive meal, feathers and glitter. “These are moments of happiness. They should last forever.”declares a man.
