There were long lines at Primera Wouters on Oranjeplein in Weert on Tuesday. Many Weerten residents did not want to miss the chance to win 30 million euros or one of the 200 MINI Coopers and therefore bought a Staatslot at the last minute. Nationally, the final grade of 7 is the most popular. But does that also apply in Weert?
Hundreds of lottery tickets sold
“Seven is by far the most popular: ‘Lucky number 7’. Zero is the least popular,” says Niels Gomes of Primera Wouters. He and his colleagues were extremely busy on the last day of the year. “It’s going crazy, and not just today, but actually for the past few days.” By around half past two in the afternoon, more than 500 raffle tickets had already been sold.
Wishes
Many people who have just bought a lottery ticket know exactly what they want to do with any prize. “At least share it with my daughter,” says a lady. “And also something for the animals in the shelter,” she adds with a smile. Another buyer dreams of “a very nice trip.” A man says he would be happy with any price.
Winning tickets at Primera Wouters
In recent years, Primera Wouters on Moesel has regularly been a sales point for prize-winning State lottery tickets. One of the 200 MINI Coopers that can be won this year stood in front of the store on Tuesday. Niels: “We hope to be able to give away a car again this year. In recent years we have had at least one, and sometimes even two.”
