Bison Futé records few slowdowns, down compared to recent days and last year. Traffic is fluid for a weekend between Christmas and New Year.
The road to or from vacation is particularly quiet. Bison futé recorded approximately 245 kilometers of traffic jams this Saturday, with a peak reached at noon of 308 kilometers. A figure down sharply compared to last Saturday: for this day of mass departures, the slowdowns had reached nearly 485 kilometers at midday, then more than 600 kilometers at the end of the afternoon, a level considered exceptional.
This Saturday is just considered “unusual” on the traffic measurement tool scale. The traffic is dense but not very clogged, thus respecting the forecast of Bison futé: this Saturday, December 28 was classified green at the national level and orange in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, in the direction of departures as well as returns (with the Paris region in orange in this second sense).
The axes most affected at this time are, unsurprisingly, the A43 (64 kilometers of traffic jams), which passes through the Lyon region and the Fréjus tunnel, and the A7 (48 kilometers), which links Lyon and Marseille.
This Sunday, traffic should remain approximately the same: Bison futé announces significant returns which could make the Paris region less fluid at the end of the day. It is thus classified green at the national level in the sense of departures and returns, except in Île-de-France, where it is orange which is announced.
