Ngo Quang Hung, first secretary of the Vietnam Trade Office in Malaysia, said about 1,000 Vietnamese companies now hold halal certifications for more than 3,000 products, adding that the high caffeine content and distinctive aroma of Vietnamese coffee make it a favorite product of many local consumers.

Vietnam's flagship export products, such as rice, tea, cashew nuts, coffee, pepper and seafood, perfectly meet the halal requirements and taste preferences of Muslim consumers, opening up new opportunities for vast prospects for development in these markets, he noted.

Themed “Optimizing the Halal Industry”, alongside the host country, the event brought together exhibitors from eight other countries, namely Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Iran, Singapore, Japan, Bangladesh and Namibia.

With its 350 stands, the festival offered a complete overview of the halal industry, from food and beverage products to beauty care, fashion and pharmaceutical products. Visitors were able to discover a multitude of solutions meeting the specific needs of Muslim consumers.
