“I am anti-red card, I hate red cards, I would like it to be reserved for extraordinary cases,” he explains. “I don’t like it, especially when it comes at the start of the match, it destroys a match, it distorts the match. In this specific case, it’s a bit at the start of the match but for me, there’s really a form of limit – and this was not the case in Marseille –: if the guy you fouled leaves the field because he is damaged and cannot continue that must be a major indicator that you should no longer be on the ground and there is a box red.”
