The two competing fast food chains are joining forces in for a publicity stunt, with a product served in all of their restaurants for three weeks.

An advertisement for KFC on an ordering terminal of a Burger King restaurant, a Burger King branded cup at KFC… For days now the two fast food chains have been raising the stakes on their social networks with a careful communication operation prepared, sharing strange photos to intrigue their subscribers. The two competing brands finally announced in a press release that they were launching a joint burger this Tuesday, November 26.

The «BFF Burger» (for best friends forever) will be available in France in all restaurants of the two brands, from November 27 to December 16. Inside the bread, customers will find “salad, tomatoes, a double portion of onions (fried and onion rings) and a delicious, specially designed white BBQ sauce” for the occasion. At Burger King, it will be served with a flame-grilled steak, and at KFC with fried chicken.

The “BFF burger” will be available with steak at Burger King and fried chicken at KFC.

A “historic collaboration” et «improbable»welcome the two brands, who will also broadcast a spot in which employees will sing “in unison, arm in arm”. Relaunched in France in 2012 after an initial failed launch, Burger King has 555 restaurants in France. In a few years it has overtaken its competitor KFC, present since 1991, which has 379 restaurants.
