The 20th anniversary of “Grand Journal” and the 40th anniversary of Canal+ celebrated on TMC. Just after “Quotidien”, TNT channel 10 will broadcast “Michel Denisot doesn't like birthdays” this Wednesday, November 13, 2024. On this occasion, the first talk host of the encrypted channel spoke of this paradox at the microphone of Éric Dussart in “On refait la télé” (which will be broadcast this Saturday, November 16) on RTL.
“What do you want me to tell you?”
To the question of whether “it wasn’t a bit weird” that this anniversary is not celebrated on Canal+, but on a channel of the TF1 group, Michel Denisot replied: “Well the answer is in the question… What do you want me to tell you?”. “Very happy” of the initiative of TMC, Michel Denisot to immediately put into perspective: “But hey, I didn’t expect that every morning either. It made me happy that it came from people with whom I worked and who worked with me”specified the one who will also celebrate his 80th birthday on April 16, 2025. On this subject, this may seem like a shame but at no time will Yann Barthès specify the age of his guest. “I'm in my 80th year, we're going to be nice so as not to break the thing… He didn't say it on the air, I told him: 'If you say my age, I say the age of everything the world'. So afterward, there were people who were bothered by it…”commented, amused, the former face of Canal+.
Michel Denisot then said more about what awaited TMC viewers. “It was obviously very touching for me to meet everyone again. The whole team of the 'Grand Journal', there is Gad Elmaleh who was the first guest in 2004… He was the first sponsor of the show and , as soon as he arrived on set, he said: 'I came because I watched it yesterday and it was good!' So here we are starting… There is also Omar Sy who arrived in the middle of the show. He put on a show like he knows. There are also archives that we forgot. was not the same 20 or 40 years ago on television, we had a certain freedom of tone which is more restricted today. There are 2, 3 extracts which are a little grating…”, he declared.
“Michel Denisot doesn’t like birthdays” was imagined and developed by Laurent Bon, the producer of “Quotidien” with whom he collaborated on “Grand journal.” “When I had lunch with him, I told him: ‘Look, it’s your project, but I don’t like birthdays.’ So he made it the title!”said, amused, Michel Denisot.
