The series is inspired by the life of English geneticist Alec Jeffreys, known today for developing genetic identification and DNA profiling techniques, now used around the world. The latter participated in writing the screenplay.

Renowned actors

In the role of Alec Jeffreys, we find the English actor and musician John Simm (in photo), discovered in the series Life on Mars and also seen in the series Grace et Prey. His alter ego in the police, Commissioner David Baker, is played with class by David Threlfall, spotted in the series Shameless and, recently on TF1, Nightsleeper.

Broadcast across the Channel on the ITV channel in April 2015, with two successive episodes, The Killer's Code fascinated more than 7 million viewers. The series was then recut into three episodes, notably for its appearance on Arte.
