They have been trying to meet the mayor of for weeks. 30 caregivers from the Pierre-Janet psychiatric hospital and the Jacques-Monod hospital interrupted the Le Havre Municipal Council this Monday, November 18, to address their grievances to Mayor Édouard Philippe, also president of the Supervisory Board of the Le Havre Hospital Group (GHH) on which their structures depend.

In the Municipal Council room, many nurses and caregivers from the Pierre-Janet hospital. Last month, they warned about Bleu Normandie on their suffering linked to a violent patient. Today, around ten caregivers are still on sick leave, partly because of her.

Several complaints filed

The weekend of September 22 and 23, during a particularly violent crisis, she rushed to her caregivers. For nine of them, work accidents were recognized, and several doctors also filed complaints. “She’s still there,” says Naïm, a nurse. No specialized structure (UMD) wants to take charge of it.” The medical team continues to organize itself to take care of her.

But the nurse notices improvements “the management agreed to receive us, and to think about a better organization, about a long-term project”.

“We are at the end”

The stretcher bearers from the Jacques-Monod hospital who made the trip to town hall cannot say the same. It's been a year now since they denounced the reorganization of their service. “We are at the end”they proclaimed in the Municipal Council. The Mayor of Le Havre has agreed to meet them in the coming weeks.
