It was an official fight, but the sporting value was low: the comeback of boxing legend Mike Tyson after 19 years. The event in the Dallas Cowboys football stadium in front of 72,300 spectators was staged as a mega show and was broadcast by the streaming provider Netflix.
Ultimately, Tyson had to leave the ring as a loser against 27-year-old Jake Paul, even though he has only been pursuing a career as a boxer since 2020. For the influencer it was the 11th victory in the 12th fight.
Tyson only initially good
Tyson started aggressively and landed more hits than his opponent in the first two rounds. In round 3, however, Paul’s punches were more effective and he briefly caused Tyson to stumble.
After that, the younger one was the much more agile fighter and had the action largely under control. Overall, Tyson only delivered 18 of his 97 punches in the 8 rounds, Paul 78 of 278. Shortly before the final bell, Paul bowed to Tyson.
Despite the defeat, Tyson said afterwards: “I don’t think it was my last fight.”

Before the boxing match, there were several interruptions in the transmission of the streaming provider Netflix. During the preliminary fights, the picture stopped for many spectators, and sometimes only the sound continued. At X, numerous users posted photos of error messages and complained about poor resolution. There was initially no public reaction from Netflix.
