RADIO – There is movement on the podium of the radio stations most listened to by the French. Médiamétrie unveiled the back-to-school audiences this Thursday, November 14, and it is France Inter which retains its leading position. But the radio has a new number 2, with another antenna of the Radio France group: franceinfo. This is now ahead of RTL.
In the lead, France Inter maintains a comfortable lead with 7.2 million listeners every day between September and October, and has therefore not suffered from the internal controversies and serial departures at the end of last season. The radio gained 265,000 more listeners per day, reaching a new record. Its cumulative audience stands at 12.8% (+0.3 points over one year).
In second position for this start of the school year, Franceinfo has 4.97 million daily listeners over the same period.
The lights are green for the Radio France group
On the third step of the podium, RTL brings together 4.9 million French people every day. The radio station has lost more than 300,000 listeners compared to the same period last year. Until 2019, the private station of the M6 group was the leader in listener audiences (-306,000 over one year). However, RTL had bet big during the summer transfer window, notably recruiting Thomas Sotto, who had left Telematin on France 2.
In detail for the rest of the Radio France group's radio stations, the lights are green. France Bleu gains nearly 90,000 listeners and reaches 2.6 million listeners. France Culture, for its part, exceeds a symbolic threshold with 2.11 million daily listeners, or 267,000 more than last year.
The station run by the Bolloré group, Europe 1, continues to grow, with 347,000 more daily listeners for a total of 2.49 million listeners. In particular, the arrival of Cyril Hanouna during the legislative election campaign with his daily program We walk on our heads.
