Brazilians remember David Luiz’s ‘deny’ against FC Porto: “You don’t spit…”

En the day of the Classic, the Brazilian press decided to remember the words of David Luiz, regarding a moment in which he could have chosen to go to FC Porto, despite having started to stand out in Europe, working for Benfica, and they were his father’s words influencing his choice.

“I remember that Benfica offered me, let’s say, around five thousand a month. FC Porto came on the scene and called me to offer around 100 thousand euros a month”, he said, speaking to ‘The Players Tribune Brasil ‘.

“I told my father and he said to me ‘You don’t spit on the plate you ate on. Sign with Benfica now’. Luís Filipe Vieira? He even started to love me more for my attitude, he never forgot”, he then stressed .

Remember that David Luiz arrived at Benfica in 2006, on loan from Brazilians Vitória, ending up staying at Luz until 2011, when he left for Chelsea, followed by adventures at SG, Arsenal and, currently, in Flamengo.
