Diego Simeone, coach of Atlético de Madrid, gave hope to PSG by promising a great future for the Parisian players despite the new disappointment against his team (1-2).

Atlético de Madrid pulled off the perfect move at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. The Colchoneros won on the PSG pitch (1-2) thanks to a goal from Angel Correa in the last minute of added time. Diego Simeone savors everything while praising the Parisian performance. It even distills a good dose of hope for Luis Enrique's team, currently 25th and virtually eliminated from the Champions League.

“They had six or seven players who were under 24”

“We knew that we were coming to meet a team which has already experienced semi-finals and a final of the Champions League, which plays very well with very good players,” declared the Argentine coach after the meeting . “They had six or seven players who were under 24. They have an incredible future. We had a lot of forfeits on defense, five.”

“El Cholo” says he is well aware of having pulled off a hold-up on the Parisian pitch, while recalling having lost in similar circumstances against (1-3) two weeks ago.

“You remember the last match against Lille, you are French, it was the same thing,” he continued. “We had seven or eight scoring chances without being able to make them happen. In the end, football is about success. Team play is very beautiful, we can attack from all sides but that's the precision which positions you in one place or another and which gives you success against Lille, we had no success and today, was better but we had this success which we had lacked against Lille.

Thanks to this second success in four games, Atlético has six points and moves up to 23rd place among the play-offs.
