Following our article on the “Lalal Bassang System” from which the columnist Ahmed Ndoye would probably have benefited, the Police contacted Dakaractu for a withdrawal of the article. The wording of the article and the explanations sound, according to them, as a defamatory article towards this body.

According to information relayed by the press, columnist Ahmed Ndoye had presented a certificate according to which his license had been confiscated for failure to wear a seat belt. The problem in this story is that the number mentioned in the document as that of his permit is unknown to the Mines service. Which makes one think that it is a certificate of convenience issued by an acquaintance to get him out of trouble. An investigation would have been opened since the certificate bears the stamp of the Medina police station.

Aware of its professionalism, Dakaractu simply decided to withdraw the article in question to put police officials at ease and await the end of the investigation into this matter.
