It is one of the anticipated events of the All Saints' Day long weekend in the metropolis of Lyon.

The Equita salon dedicated to horse riding takes place from October 30 to Sunday November 3, 2024 at the Eurexpo exhibition center in Chassieu, near Lyon. The event, very popular with enthusiasts, but also families, expects nearly 200,000 visitors.

The biggest equestrian event in Europe

The event, which is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, organized by the Lyon-based global events giant GL Events, claims to be the “largest European equestrian event” for novices and specialists for five days of celebration and discovery of horses and ponies.

The figures are also impressive: the show covers 140,000 m², or 19 football fields, and welcomes in the same place 3,500 equines of around forty different races.

It takes 12 days for the technical teams to set up the show and the international arena with its stands in which professional competitions are played.

800 exhibitors, 250 events and a family event

Equita welcomes 800 exhibitors from the equestrian world in total and offers 250 events. The most experienced will be won over, as every year, by the competitions, notably the Longines Grand Prix (Friday November 1), the Equita Masters by Hermes Sellier (Saturday November 2) and the Longines Fei jumping world cup (Sunday).

The show also targets families with activities and demonstrations. The general public appreciates the equestrian cabaret, the highlight of the event for them, which takes place every day for 1.5 hours at lunch and dinner time. The equestrian artists present paintings to music, under the eyes of the public seated in the stands.

The public can also participate in western initiations, archery on horseback, or even go and enjoy the children's village.

Equita Lyon, Eurexpo exhibition center: from October 30 to November 3, 2024. Tickets valid for one day from 15 to 24 euros per person. Ticketing is open online.
