Harris was in Georgia, where early voting is already possible, Trump was in Pennsylvania. At a McDonald’s in suburban Philadelphia, Trump took off his jacket, tied on an apron and started making fries, something he said he had wanted to do all his “life.” After sprinkling the fries with salt, he distributed them to the arriving customers. “I love this job,” said Trump, whose love of fast food is well known. “I have a lot of fun here.”

Trump had said beforehand that his visit to McDonald’s was partly intended as a dig at Harris, who says she worked at the fast-food chain during her college years in California. Trump claims Harris never worked there, although he has provided no evidence of this.

‘divisiveness’

Harris, who celebrated her 60th birthday on Sunday, attended two church services outside Atlanta on Sunday. icon Stevie Wonder performed at one of those services. He sang, among other things, his hit Higher Ground and a version of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song.

She took the opportunity to address the “divisive rhetoric of the current political climate” in the country, without mentioning Trump by name. “At this point in our country we see some trying to deepen division among us, spread hatred, sow fear and cause chaos,” she said.
