Subsidized by Haute Ariège and the department, the music school of the country of Tarascon and Vicdessos has developed an instrumentarium.
This is news that will delight members’ families. The music school of the country of Tarascon and Vicdessos can now offer its members loans or rentals of musical instruments at preferential rates.
A system made possible thanks to “the broad support of the community of communes of Haute Ariège and the department”, explain Daniel Naranjo Prina, the new president of the school, and Amandine the treasurer.
An associative school in development
The music school, although located in Auzat, serves two territories: the Vicdessos valley and the Tarascon country. Founded in 2015 in Capoulet Junac, the association then moved to Auzat. The courses began with around twenty students from Haute Ariège, before quickly attracting registrations from the Tarascon region.
“Today we are spread across the country of Tarascon, but the development of the school was made possible thanks to the precious help of the community of communes of Haute Ariège, which for three years has supported us with a grant of €3,000, without forgetting the €2,200 from the departmental council. This is why we have put in place preferential rates for children and adults in Haute Ariège.”
A catalog of instruments under study
Among its supporters, the music school of the country of Tarascon and Vicdessos can also count on the village of Auzat, Niaux, and the municipality of Tarascon-sur-Ariège which very regularly make rooms available to them. So much support which allows this small mountain school to offer new services to its members:
“Some of our music teachers have recently found a variety of instruments at a good price which will allow us to offer a more varied range of instruments,” underlines the president of the school, “everything will depend on finances, it is in course of study”.
