On the occasion of Charles Aznavour’s 100th birthday, “1:15 p.m. on Sunday” wanted to pay tribute to him. With the words of the legendary singer, who died in 2018, the magazine retraces the different stages of his long career.

This year, Charles Aznavour would have celebrated his 100th birthday. On this occasion, a series of tributes were paid to him, in particular the cinema release, on October 23, of the biopic Mr Aznavourproduced by Grand Corps Malade, where the singer is played by Tahar Rahim.

1:15 p.m. Saturday(New window)(New window)” (X(New window)(New window), #13h15(New window)(New window)) wanted to join the celebrations of the centenary of this immense artist with an assumed narrative process: telling his life only in his own words.

In December 1988, an earthquake in Armenia caused an emotional and identity shock for him. He composes an unforgettable song for Armenia and calls on all his showbiz friends to perform it. But above all, he reconnects with his roots and becomes a hero in his country of origin.
