This is the direct consequence of the Cévennes episode that hit the department this week.
A Cévennes episode of very high rainfall intensity made drinking water unfit for consumption for reasons of turbidity (turbid water exceeding standards) in five municipalities of Alès Agglomération (Branoux-les-Taillades, Concoules, Génolhac, La Grand-Combe, and Les-Salles-du-Gardon). Consequently, in the five municipalities mentioned above, it is not recommended to drink water, brush your teeth or prepare food.
Faced with this situation, the Alès urban water authority (REAAL) immediately reacted by setting up regular water analyzes in the municipalities concerned, a drinking water tank with a capacity of 12,000 liters in the town of La Grand-Combe, self-service (medical center parking). In addition, 30,000 bottles of water will be delivered to the population.
Residents of the five municipalities concerned can contact their town hall to find out how bottled drinking water is distributed. The provision of bottled water (and filling of the tank) will continue throughout this episode of deterioration in the quality of drinking water. The REAAL will notify the population of the return to normal as soon as possible.
